Problem: Need for high quality patient experience content with custom facility branding

MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC), part of the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital system, was looking to find a more consumer-friendly way to introduce admitted patients and their families to the hospital and its services. They wanted communication that was “friendly,” but also professional – in keeping with their reputation for quality – as well as brand-specific. White labeled content wouldn’t do and in-house content creation was financially prohibitive. Further complicating the situation, the age range variance for their units made a one-size solution impossible.

Solution: Custom branded age- and facility-specific interactive television system introduction to care videos

MGHfC saw customized introductory animation that HNM had designed for other institutions’ interactive patient communication systems. Through our partner, TVR, they engaged Health Nuts’ team of top flight designers, writers, and animators to design custom MassGeneral-branded inpatient introduction videos that highlighted their services and explained basics about the hospital experience – care teams, rounds, visiting hours, who to ask, etc. – in an engagingly brief, and fun, format. Though similar, content also needed to be tailored to fit three different units: their 0-5 year old floors, the 5-18 year old areas, and their 0-18 year old pediatric intensive care unit. The style and messaging was customized to match the unique requirements for each to provide the best experience for the patients of each unit, as well as for their families and loved ones.
